European ADRs Move Lower in Monday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.16% lower at 1,046.94 on the BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Monday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by electronics maker Philips Electronics (PHG) and biotech firm Zealand Pharma (ZEAL), which climbed 5.5% and 2% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS) and semiconductor company STMicroelectronics (STM), which rose 1.7% each.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical (OASM), and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which ell 3% and 2.7% respectively. They were followed by dating app operator Spark Networks (LOV), and bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), which dropped 2.4% and 1.1%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY) and educational publisher Pearson (PSO), which rose 2.1% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Amarin (AMRN) and software firm Endava (DAVA), which were up 1.1% and 0.7%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical firm Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and specialty pharmaceuticals company Motif Bio (MTFB), which fell 13.3% and 5.8% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator BT Group (BT) and alcoholics beverage company Diageo (DEO), which were off 1.7% and 0.9%.
