European ADRs Trading Lower

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.03% higher at 1,055.23 on the BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Tuesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by 3D printer maker voxeljet (VJET) and pharmaceutical company Novartis (NVS), which rose 0.8% and 0.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Genfit (GNFT) and software firm SAP (SAP), which were up 0.6% and 0.5%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP), and biopharmaceutical company MorphoSys (MOR), which lost 4.7% and 2.9% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications operator Telecom Italia (TI), which fell 2.2%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers included tobacco and consumer goods company British American Tobacco (BTI), which rose 1.4%. Mining company Rio Tinto (RIO) and software company Endava (DAVA) rose 1.1% and 0.9% respectively.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by specialty pharmaceutical firm Motif Bio (MTFB), and telecommunications operator Vodafone Group (VOD), which lost 8.5% and 1.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), and Barclays Bank (BCS), which were off 1.3% and 1.2%.
