European ADRs Move Higher

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.51% higher at 1,053.33 on the BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Friday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP) and online dating site operator Spark Networks (LOV), which rose 2.7% and 2.4% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications company VEON (VEON) and oil and gas company Eni (E), which were up 1.8% each.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which fell 2.6% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by software firm Talend (TLND) and biopharmaceutical company MorphoSys (MOR), which lost 2% and 1.6%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell (RDS-A) and educational publishing company Pearson (PSO), which rose 0.7% and 0.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX) and airline operator Ryanair (RYAAY), which were up 0.5% each.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company NuCana (NCNA) and specialty pharmaceutical company Motif Bio (MTFB), which fell 10.4% and 6.4% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and pharmaceutical firm Avadel (AVDL), which lost 4.6% and 2.5%.
